Rareș Ilie, the fans and a flag that has nothing to do with football

About Rareș Ilie I’ve spoken to everybody I know since almost two years ago. When I saw him in his first matches at Rapid Bucharest and after hearing him talk and watching him act. His physique is impressive, his technique outstanding. He was only 17 years old back then. Two seasons on and he topped his performance with a screamer against Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe. A goal that will forever remain in the history of Rapid.

hE wears the number 10 jersey in Giulești, even though he has strong “opponents” for it like Alexandru Ioniță II, Antonio Sefer or even Alexandru Albu. I know, apparently Albu is not in the same profile, but he is beyond what he plays and above Liga 1 average.

Rareș Ilie, best football player in town

Going back to Rareș Ilie, it would be very interesting how he’ll evolve. He has all the ingredients to become a top footballer and I really hope he will. If he’ll follow the same path, he will be, without any doubt, the Romanian football national team leader in maximum three years. And it can be so for at least one decade.

his guy has qualities far higher than what we can see in Romanian football. And I am referring here to all the qualities he has, both as a footballer and as a human being. He can make it, but it depends on him. The masterpiece scored against Sepsi stands as strong proof and you can find the video just below.

Sports is not politics, get over this shit!

Not only did this guy’s performance stood out in the game against the opponent from Covasna county, but also a mini-pitch invasion by some supporters. A gesture that everybody condemned. Because they don’t have any clue about what really happened. Of course, to enter the field, as a fan, should attract some sanctions on your behalf, no question about that, but what should happen to some guys that put some political flags on a fence, that have nothing, really nothing, to do with football?

Nothing the stewards, the police, and especially the press, didn’t point this out. Because, in general, in Romania, the press aims to discuss mostly unimportant, not sensitive subjects that really matter. This being said, I can state that the pitch invaders fixed something that should not be seen on a football pitch.

I foresee a second Rapid – Sepsi in a couple of matches

But ignoring hot topics, we will go to other scales of reality and, in the end, we will be the ones who will be shocked or unhappy with some output. What an irony! OK, leave this aside. Because Rapid – Sepsi 1-0 and Rareș Ilie’s current performance are the ones which really count in terms of sports. And it should remain this way. Especially because I have a hunch that the game will be repeated as a play-off for the Europe Conference League.

At the same venue. We just need to be more careful than what we are accepting in the stands and what not. I mean as a whole. I don’t know if Rareș Ilie will once again perform at that point, but if Rapid will win again, it will be fine by me. So far, since Adrian Mutu joined as a coach he has hit seven out of seven – I am expecting five more!
