Having a business trip in Ochsenfurt, I couldn’t miss for sure Würzburg, especially this was the train station coming from Nuremberg. The bridge above Main is a very good replica of Charles Bridge from Prague, and also a main scene for “The three musketeers”, in 2011, thru Würzburg Residence, as well, a UNESCO World Heritage. From a cultural perspective, this is a must. But so is it from a… wine tasting perspective! And not because of the quality of the wine, as it is not the most renewed in Germany, but for the Main Wein experience: you essentially buy a glass of wine and consume it on the Alte Mainbrücke, enjoying a view and an atmosphere very hard to describe.
Würzburg and its charm
Apart from the cultural side, the wandering thru the beautiful streets, checking out the stadium of the local team, back then in the third division, was a must. It was locked, but I could have a glance. On top of that, I saw better another part of the town. It is funny, because five years later, at EURO 2024, the national football team of Romania had its headquarters in Würzburg. I know they should like it, of course. Don’t know if they did, but a normal human being can’t deny the town has a special charm. No more words needed, though, as I am adding a substantial collection of photos, just to sustain my written words easier.
