What does it take to become a runner?

So what does it take to become a runner? If this got your attention, you are on the right page to learn. It mostly applies in Romania, but it could happen to equivalate also in any places, with similar cultures. First of all, you need to open an Instagram account, and – very important! – put the word “run” in the title. It doesn’t matter if you post in Romanian – or what is applicable – run would always be a better catcher. Then, post 20 times from each activity you undertake, and pretend to be modest, very modest, and NOT an influencer. On the same time, try an partner with all kind of events and brands. It doesn’t mater how big they are, or even if they exist. You can figure out a simple way to convince people, in a very, very humble way, that you are their face.

Don’t run pointless, subscribe to races

Now, it is not mandatory to run, in order to become a runner – in the sense I am depicting – but you should go once in a while, to be able and create at least some reliable content. Don’t be silly, though, and train, be consistent, or futile stuff like this. No, this is for losers! You won’t state that, you will just say you don’t have time, you are busy with family, friends, work, side businesses etc. Yet, you have time to post day and night all the crap… sorry, I meant, content you create. Instead, subscribe and run only to races. Ideally get discount codes, or maybe beg – sorry, meant negotiate – for free subscriptions, in exchange you will create, of course, running content. Some time it might work, and it will save you tens or EUR or USD!

5Ks are for losers, go for 100M, but with a humble grain of salt – always!

And if you follow this advice, then you must for sure not limit yourself to few kilometer races, like 5K and 10Ks. State that you are not meant to suffer for speed – as you could blast a world record if you want to – instead choose halves, but, even better: marathons, and ultramarathons! You can’t be a true runfluencer if you don’t run 100K, 100M etc. Because there are a lot of guys on Instagram, on social media in general which state that going for a 100 miles is easy, because you enjoy walking, eating etc. Who are you to challenge those wise men?!

Don’t forget about a very well deserved reward!

Of course, again, you need to act humble, very humble, like it is not your place there, that you are making this huge sacrifice to prove a point, whatever that is. If you have some extra tens of kilos, the story and your position are consolidated even better, because to eb overweight it is ideal to start running above 40 kilometers. There is no better way to lose weight, you will state. It is obvious the correct approach. It doesn’t matter if you put some shoots with hotdogs, pizzas, kebabs, many beers, a huge barbeque etc. Those are not mitigating the idea of a healthy life, they are just rewards after you finished a 50K in 12 hours. The fact that they might get inside you more calories than you consumed, is only a neglectable detail.

Running on a regular basis? But why?!

The good point is that you can brag about running that marathon or 50K without running any other kilometer two weeks before or after. Because, as said, you are a very, very busy person. You don’t have nothing to prove, but you are behaving like the need for validation is the stream that keeps you moving. If you don’t get a medal at the end, if you can’t have a generous racing kit with detergent, shoe deodorant, and useless supplements involved, what is the point of posting? Make a story like the event organizers consider you a key component in their mechanism.

Of course it is a pamphlet

Those are the things you need. Not necessary running, let alone running everyday. You just need to pretend to run, and to want to inspire others. In the end, it doesn’t mater what you do, it is only important what others think you do. Guys, of course, this is a pamphlet, I hope you got it. But this is the reality I see everyday, and I try to make up the logic, since our sports results, in general, are almost inexistent. However, there are a lot of specialists who talk day long about sports, and in this case about running in special. This is why, maybe, an Instagram account can represent, in the conception of many, the key to become a runner.
