Chicago Marathon 2023 was announced as a World Record tentative, but not from Eliud Kipchoge, but from Kelvin Kiptum, a 23 year young prodigy from the same Kenya. Well, Kelvin Kiptum already amazed in Valencia and London, where he run his first and only marathons, in 2:01:53 and 2:01:25 respectively. Two of the fastest five times in history, from which one with number 2 tag. Therefore, Kenya can keep correcting without any doubt the marathon running times. What actually happened?
Kelvin Kiptum, 2:00:35, new Word Record, at Chicago Marathon 2023
Well… Kelvin Kiptum ran the last part of the race completely alone and managed to finish in an outstanding and from now on it seems that Eliud Kipchoge will become history! But we might have an epic fight at the Summer Olympics, on behalf of Kenya. Still, Kiptum looks to be in huge advantage. The first man to run an official marathon 1under 2:01! 2:00:35 more precisely! Kiptum will break the official two hour barrier, most likely, in Berlin, in 2024. Can hardly wait to see it!
Kelvin Kiptum, first reaction!
Now, please check some of the first words that Kelvin Kiptum shared immediately after briefly celebrating his win! “I felt so happy when I realized I am setting a new world record. I have tried Chicago, because I have heard it is a flat marathon”, said Kelvin Kiptum at the end, for NBC Chicago.
