How f*cked up is the world we live in? Ask a… coach

As years goes by, when you are trying to get your hours on this world matched to quality time spent learning, acting, or just planning, the disappointment in the way we are dealing with basic things, as human beings, can increase more and more. I was watching a Netflix documentary, with Bill Gates in the core of it, and was very surprised that a huge portion of it was linked to the Microsoft founder being obliged to deny the forever “accusations” of some groups of people that he is up to something, that has aim to impact humankind negatively. I mean we are talking about a human that developed one of the greatest tools of all time, from which all we benefit – or could benefit – and who, for around 25 years has becoming a researcher to fight serious topics like global warming or serious diseases, like malaria. I feel embarrassed to be a human being to see how severely one of the greatest minds on the last century is questioned by people who, basically have zero knowledge about anything, even themselves think they know everything.

What a paradox!

Life coach, nutritionist, personal trainer… What other jokes are there?

Then there is Dan Pena, a guy I am following and listening to for maybe five years now, and who is obliged to have a brutal approach, just for people to have it easier in understanding what the world is really like. You need somebody to scream from the top of his lungs that there are impostors at every corner, and truth being said, all of us should see: overweight personal trainers, or nutritionists, people that ran a couple of kilometers, and give running advice, former chain smokers, or heavy drinkers that now tell us how bad is to smoke or drink (?!?!). And there are the… life coaches! Honestly speaking, this kind of “occupation”, with grew a lot of sub ramifications – don’t make me name any other, as this is not the point – was very foreign from my knowledge, I thought that Dan Pena is, for example, a life coach. He is far more, but this guy has quantifiable results, so I was assuming that each coach should have. But, well…

Dan Pena laughs of these guys

I have learned recently, more of a joke, but I don’t think it is far from reality, that as a “life coach” you are learning that… “life is though and hard”. So then, this is the core thing you share, and start with? Wow! Going back to Dan Pena, he mentioned several times that if you attend this kind of seminaries you are “ambushed” at the end, behind stage, by the person who holds it, to sell you some books at a huge discount… Those guys who give lessons, most of them, are literally living from the money they are are receiving to preach things that you should know from your own if you have a medium intelligence, not a superior one! Save money, don’t live beyond your means, eat as clean as possible, drink few alcohol, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, exercise as much as you can, and so on. Don’t we all know that these are key components of our baseline wellbeing? Well, I guess we should.

So then what can I be in this world?

I know, and I have tried to live as clean as possible, even I was born and breed, like many people with the free will to separate good from bad. I’ve never been an athletic person, but practiced sports in the last 15 years almost without interruption – the 26.000 kilometers ran by now, 500+ sessions of kickboxing and many, many hours of swimming stand as the most sincere witnesses.  As years pass, I’ve tried to enhance the way I eat, the way I sleep and the way I protect myself against external factors, like dust, cold, pollution etc. Have I the claim now to be any kind of wellness coach? For sure not, even though I can be better than 90% of what the general offer on market, at least. I am amused and stunned at the same time when I see what kind of figures are providing consultancy services for health and nutrition. It would be a joke, but actually it is a bad dream.

All of us have free will, educate that into children!

I never drank alcohol to the verge of being wasted, to feel sick, and never had I any hangover. I smoked only a couple of cigars in my entire life, out of curiosity, but it was not something I could understand why so many people are enchanted of – I was surrounded by smokers most part of my young life – but I felt no temptation. Why do all those people feel, what is the point? I never did any kind of drugs, even though I didn’t grow up in a risk free environment. I didn’t gamble in any manner, so then how could I resist? We all have choices, and I’ve made mine. What do I want to say about this? I am not trying to put a blame or to show with my finger people who done it, or do it, the point is that I am almost shocked that many people that had (some even have, even they don’t admit) that kind of lifestyle preach aggressively how wrong that is.

No shit?!

I knew from childhood which things were good and which bad

Why do you think people like me didn’t start going on those paths, even I could have use all the reasons in the world to start any of those – yep, my life also was paved with frustration, needs, broken dreams etc.? We didn’t do that because WE KNEW IT WAS WRONG FROM THE BEGINNING! And now, I am asking, if the above mentioned kind of people can give life advise and life training, what should I do? At some point, I might do that, but what I do know for sure, I am still far away in connecting all the dots in my life and became at least a tiny wheel in the global mechanism of making the world better, or at least to live behind some instructions, based on which further generations can deal better with the challenges. As I have already mentioned about global warming.

Bill Gates doesn’t have the answers for the world, then how can we?

And going back to Bill Gates, who is trying to fight against this problem, even though he seems so little alone in front of the challenge. This tells us clearly, and so does he, that only together we can put our minds in a single direction and contribute to move forward in repairing the damages made to our planet already. I always seek to be circled by people smarter than me, because this is the only way we can evolve and have results that people can keep a track on – those are real results! But those who challenges the likes of Bill Gates are already in charge  of everything, and know everything – I am ironic, of course – so they don’t need to contribute. For example, my main takeaway from Dan Pena up to know is that I need to admit my own shit, to watch myself in the mirror and rigorously confess to myself when it is my fault, or part of my fault.

Because, in the end what does confessing means?

Confess to yourself, and act based on that – the only real thing

If we want to be up to the truth, the only efficient confession, is the one made from you, to you, and trying to do everything possible to correct the shit you’ve done, to avoid making same mistakes over and over. Confessing to somebody else, like a priest, it is more a metaphor. Because if confession is not followed by changes,  or by actions, it is not only pointless, but fake confession, sort to speak. We see well educated and very smart people trying to invent vaccines, offer better life to many, and then you have people with eight grades graduated at most, with social media as their main source of information, who challenge vaccine efficiency, speak about conspiracy theories, and about how smart people are evil. How did we come up to that?

Food waste, “third country” in terms of worldwide GHG emissions!!!

People are becoming more and more superficial, so you can become a life coach, even though you haven’t realize anything measurable in your life to help others change, develop. Many of us like to listen to those that speak exactly what they believe in / think they believe in, and then wave political correctness as an universal patch on every stupid thing done / said. Then how come hunger, disease won’t flourish? Why do we are surprised that drinking water becomes more and more a luxury, considering all horrible man-made, without any logic, pollution? How can’t we be on the wrong   path possible when food waste, if it would be a country, it would be the third in the world in terms of green house gas emissions? FOOD WASTE in 2024, when hundred of million people starve!!!

Our planet needs solutions, not coaches

How really fucked up is the world we live in? Well, ask those coaches, who I am sure can come up with a lot of words, a lot of explanations, by energic moving hands, but with too less real solutions. Because for that, you need to work with the most intelligent, most well prepared and educated, and whom are willing to spend their life in working for the good of the planet. They don’t have yet the answers, or have very few of them… So then, how can all these coaches, with zero results in any domain, during their life time, can be named themselves coaches? I might take, at some point, the task of becoming a coach for coaches. It is partly a joke, partly truth. But what I do know is that I am not even 1% loaded to really take on such a task, even it sounds superficial. And I do like to read, study, and work with intelligent people.

Will a better world will be shaped in our lifetime? The way in which things are evolving, I can just say it is not any easy task at all.

Svalbard, victim of global warming…

Now I am struggling to get a book I had my hands on, in Longyearbyen, but didn’t buy it when the chance was real: “My world is melting”, it talks about Svalbard. A winter heaven, where I’ve been to. I am curious about the details of a local, a Norwegian women living there, and wrote it. If that is not a living proof of the severity of global warming, and that every danger mentioned is as real as it can be, than I am not sure what other proof can appear. I am not if that can be stopped in our lifetime, but I am sure we need to do everything possible in contributing to heal the planet as much as we can. Those things are important, not all the crap that circulates everywhere, encouraged by small thinking people, with boosted opinions by masses that want to put the blame of their lack of results on others, ideally on “branded” names, because… why not?
