Marius Șumudică, the hot potato next to Rapid Bucharest

Days before the match between Rapid and Dinamo, Marius Șumudică, probably the best Romanian football coach of the moment – and I am not joking – put his guns, metaphorically speaking, on Daniel Niculae and Mihai Iosif mostly. Not very polite. OK, this is it… Their problem… I don’t forget, though, one year and something ago, when Marius Șumudică was saying that Iosif sent him some messages, to receive some precious advise, as he was at the beginning of his journey in Ligue 2. Șumudică did not do it. Now, I am not reproducing what he said because it is not relevant. Still, I don’t see how he can help Rapid more than Iosif. In the last year, he trained in 24 matches in Turkish Superlig. The results?

  • 3 wins
  • 7 draws
  • 14 loses

So, what’s happening here, boys? Șumudică had results only at CFR Cluj, but there you can put Ionuț Chirilă as coach, pretty much the same… Dan Petrescu is a great trainer only in Romania so this speaks by itself… Marius Șumudică is a great motivator, but so is Iosif. Marius Șumudică has more experience, indeed, but he went down in the last years, results speaking. He will coach Rapid some day, but if he will fail to win a trophy at least, what would be the difference from Mihai Iosif, whom promoted not only from second to the first division, but also from the fifth to the fourth league AFC Rapid. We don’t forget. So, Șumi must be able to have better results, in the same circumstances, with strikers like Marzouk, Alami, Moise or Vojtus.
